The Gift Industry Just Admitted Personalization Shouldn't Be a Luxury. We Started There.

A gifting company called Keepsake & Co. made a small but telling announcement this week: they're rebuilding their pricing so that personalization is no longer treated as a premium add-on. "Too often, people settle for generic gifts because they assume personalization is expensive or complicated," their founder said, explaining the shift toward standard, affordable customization across their catalog.

It's a nice reminder that the rest of the gifting world is only just catching up to something we built our entire business around. The most personal gift anyone can give a new family already exists — it's sitting in a phone, a folder, or a manila envelope from a recent scan. It just usually never becomes anything more than a photo nobody prints.

The most personal keepsake you'll ever give doesn't need an upcharge

That's the whole idea behind EchoCard. It takes the ultrasound image a family already has — the one where they first saw a nose, a fist, a profile — and turns it into a pocket-sized keepsake without turning personalization into a luxury line item. No design fee. No "premium tier." Just their baby's image, made to last.

We think that matters especially at a baby shower, where gifts tend to sort themselves into two piles: the practical registry items everyone needs, and the one gift that actually makes someone tear up a little when they open it. Increasingly, gift-givers are looking for that second kind — something a new parent couldn't have bought for themselves, made from something only their family has.

So if the rest of the gifting industry is just now deciding that meaningful shouldn't mean expensive, we're glad to have the company. We've been making a keepsake from the first time you see your baby affordable from day one — because that moment shouldn't need a luxury budget to be honored.
