Every BabyPrint3D keepsake goes through the same five steps: you upload your ultrasound at checkout, our pipeline scores its quality, a person reviews it, the image is carefully prepared, and your piece is made to order in Texas. Here's the whole process — including the two places where we'll stop and tell you no rather than ship something you wouldn't love.
Step 1: You upload — right on the product page
Choose your piece — EchoGlow, EchoCard, EchoPortrait, EchoForm, or a digital EchoEnhance — and attach your scan during checkout. The original digital file from your clinic is ideal; a careful photo of your printout works too (flat, even light, no glare).
Step 2: The pipeline scores your image
Our system first identifies what it's looking at — a 2D scan, a 3D/4D render, a screen capture, or a photographed printout — because each needs different handling. It then scores the image across nine quality metrics: sharpness, contrast, noise, framing, and more. This is calibrated on real clinical exports, including the quirks of specific machines — smooth 3D renders, vendor watermarks, compression artifacts — so a good image never gets wrongly penalized and a weak one never slips through.
Step 3: A person looks — gate one
Every image is reviewed by a human before production. If your scan won't support the product you chose — the face obstructed, the resolution too low, a 2D scan ordered into a sculpted format — you hear it now, in plain language, with options: a different frame from your session (most 3D/4D sessions capture dozens), an enhancement pass first, or a format your image genuinely supports. You're never charged for a keepsake we already know would disappoint you.
Step 4: Careful preparation
Approved images are conservatively enhanced: machine interface clutter removed, faded tones recovered, contrast rebalanced, detail sharpened — never invented. For lithophane pieces like the EchoGlow, the prepared image is then mapped pixel-by-pixel into material thickness; for sculpted pieces, the 3D scan data drives the form directly. A specialist checks the result — gate two — before anything is produced.
Step 5: Made to order, shipped from Texas
Your piece is produced individually — nothing is pre-made and personalized later — then finished, packed, and shipped from Conroe, Texas. Digital products arrive by email within 1–2 days; physical pieces list current production times on each product page.
